Day 23/24 - Visual writing prompts - http://writingprompts.tumblr.com/ try one.
Day 21/22 Huffington Post best Creative Writing activities. Choose 1 or more and try it. Just for an exercise, it doesn't have to amount to anything, just stretch your creative mind. Click on the Best exercises tab and they actually come up on the next page at the left in smaller printing with a scroll through 1-10. Try your favorite. Again, just mind activators; not much writing may even stem from it, or...it may be your best seller.

Day 19/20. GET A LIBRARY PASS. Browse the genres that you enjoy in fiction...(remember the library colour code). Pick the first line of a novel and use it for inspiration. Write as if you were starting at the beginning of a novel and just build the setting and character base slowly. Do not rush the plot in any way; and you may only hint at one at this point. Do 2 pages. Focus on details more than action but keep your reader's interest.
Day 17/18 - Using a powerful and open ended line to start - Use either "Silence whirls around me like shards of glass" or "as I scanned the sky, I saw it was true. The sky people were descending towards us." Use one of these lines somewhere in your piece.
HERE JAN 13th Day 15/16 - Grab a piece of BLANK paper, and put some headphones and music on, do not touch the music again, let it flow. Whatever comes on, honour the mood and just start drawing. Anything random from your head. Change colours as necessary, do not try to make sense of what you create. Once you feel there is some sort of picture, enough "stuff" on the page, STOP. Look at it and try to decipher things...EVENTS, PEOPLE, CONFLICTS, ACTIONS, MOODS and use these to inspire your writing now.
Do the same with your writing now. Don't take time to think, just write and let it flow in any way it goes. Later you can come back and make sense of it. Have fun!

Day 6-9: Pictures/prompts and many other links
Explore this website, choose 2 different elements, copy them into the writing header and every 2 days write something different. Be quick to choose and run with it. Continue to explore an element to try. Perhaps also try poetic elements except personification, metaphor, irony.
Day 4/5: 100 prompts for teens - Give yourself 5 minutes and then pick one. Free write a part around this piece, just and exercise and does not need to be comprehensive. Focus on 2 things you need to work on.
NOTE: NOVEMBER IS NOVEL MONTH: You can try and write 1000 words a day on a single piece and get 30,000 words by Nov. 31st. Or, do a novelette and write 350 words a day for 10,000 words by months end. ANY TAKERS?
Day 1: Getting to know you. The loosely formed groups will work a little closer together on review and conferencing days to provide a more focussed experience, but mostly you will write for yourself and post to get feedback from others in other classes. You will:

- become better writers through review and editing
- learn how to give appropriate and useful feedback
- work on developing your personal "voice" and style through short exercises
- be inspired by others ideas and directions
- create a body of work that you will ultimately paste on FreshGrade and hopefully share other places.
